Why does the majority of UK wet Cat Food not list taurine on its ingredients?
The only brand where I have seen it listed is Hi Life.
I am assuming all other brands (such as Whiskas) contain it as a legal requirement, so is it not a legal requirement that it has to be listed? Does it come under ‘vitamins and minerals’?
It’s my understanding that the meat in the cat food doesn’t contain enough taurine because it has been cooked, so it has to be added
it is an amino acid so doen’t need to be listed but needs to be added. i know dry food lists it. i add in to my cats diet something serene um which is all essential amino acids that they and dogs need to maintain a healthy heart, vision etc.
